Not much is known about St. Bartholomew. He is listed as one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, and may have also been referred to as Nathaniel, as his name does not appear in John's Gospel, while Nathaniel does not appear in the other gospels. His travels are unknown, but he is said to have gone to India, or to Mesopotamia. He was martyred, although the manner of his death is not widely agreed upon. This icon was done through the St. John of Damascus Icon Studio, and is part of an apostles tier in the iconostasis of the Chapel at Camp Nazareth.
