Archangel Gabriel
The Archangel Gabriel is mentioned several times in the Bible, but chiefly for his role in the Incarnation of Christ, It was the Archangel Gabriel who appeared to the Virgin Mary, bringing her the good news that she would conceive and bear Christ. He is shown here with the Archangel Michael and the Archangel Raphael, and also in the icon of the Annunciation. In the icon of the Holy Archangels, Gabriel, the figure on the left, he holds a medallion of the Theotokos and the Christ child to show the important role that he played in this joyous event.The icon on the left was commissioned by Fr. Michael Begolly.
The icon on the right was commissioned by St. Peter and St. Paul Albanian Orthodox Church.
