 Isaac, the old testament patriarch, was the son of Abraham, and the father of Jacob. as a child, his father was commanded by God to sacrifice him. Abraham dutifully obliged, but was stoppend by God at the last minute.

This icon was commissioned for the diakonikon of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in South Glens Falls, NY
